Full description
Ten-day surf forecasts for over 80 spots around the UK and Ireland, from hangten.app. Each spot gets a bar for each day, split into early, morning, afternoon and evening: green is good, amber is fair, red is poor. Stars show how good the waves are, and faded stars are the ones the wind spoils. Search for a spot or a town near it, or filter for longboard waves, beginners, reefs and points, all-tide spots or sheltered ones. Bookmark the spots you surf to keep them at the top. The map shows them all, coloured by how good each will be on the day you pick. Each spot's page has: • The next ten days at a glance • Every day hour by hour: swell, wind, tides, sunrise and sunset, and the weather • What each forecast model says about the waves and wind for any hour • A short guide to the spot • A map of the break showing the swell it picks up and the winds it's sheltered from • The latest reading from the nearest wave buoy There's a home-screen widget too, for the spot you choose or whichever is good soonest. Forecasts come from Open-Meteo, using models from Météo-France, NOAA, DWD, ECMWF and the Met Office. Buoy data comes from Cefas WaveNet, the Regional Coastal Monitoring Programmes and the Marine Institute. Free, with no ads, accounts or tracking.

What's new

New in 1.2: steadier ratings. Each hour's wind is now the middle of four forecast models, taken from the sea off the beach, so ratings change less from one forecast to the next. The days at a glance on a spot now fit narrow screens, with each day's stars under its squares.
