Take a sale with no network. EDEN Kesef is a till for people who sell for cash. It runs on your phone, it works when there is no signal, and your records stay on the phone. A sale is two taps. Type the amount. Tap how it was paid. There is no home screen to get past and nothing to set up first. Cash, phone, card, book. Four keys, always in the same place. WHEN THERE IS NO SIGNAL It still works. A dead network is not a closed shop. NO ACCOUNT, NO SIGN-UP You do not give anybody an email address to start. There is no advertising in the app. If you want to hand your book to another phone, you do it yourself, by sharing a file. Nothing goes on its own. THE BOOK Keep track of who owes you. When somebody pays, the money comes off the oldest debt first, the way you would do it on paper. If you miss a day, the book comes out smaller than the truth. It never comes out wrong, and it tells you how many days it has. Your book, your takings and your customers' names sit behind a PIN that only you know. On the counter screen there is nothing for a stranger to read, and the records on the phone are locked with the same key. STOCK What you have, what it cost, and what it is worth now. Stock is valued at what you actually paid across all of it, not at whatever you paid last time. Things get used up in the order they go off, so nothing dies at the back of the shelf. A loss always has a reason. The app will not let you write something off without saying why. IF YOU MAKE SOMETHING Put in what went in. Get out what it cost you to make one. The ratio works both ways. A kilo of fruit can make two kilos of jam because you added sugar. Eight kilos of apples can make one of concentrate because you took the water out. Both are handled. Packaging is part of the cost. In the worked example that ships with the app, a bottle costs 44.44 to fill and 104.44 once you count the bottle, the cap and the label. Sell at 150 and you think you are making 70 per cent. You are making 30. SHOWING SOMEBODY WHAT YOU DO When you have kept it a while, the app can put your own figures together: what you take, what you hold, how the seasons move, how long your money is tied up. Every figure says how complete it is: how many days are in it, how many entries. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to send it. The app does not say whether you will be approved for anything. It does not score you. It shows what you have done. WHAT IT IS NOT It does not hold your money and it does not move it. It writes down that a payment happened. The money goes where it was always going. It is free.
