CiaoSpeak: Chinese for TOCFL

CiaoSpeak teaches Traditional Chinese the way Taiwan speaks it: everyday Taiwanese Mandarin with Zhuyin or Pinyin, Taiwan-accent audio, Chinese tones and pronunciation from your first lesson, and units labeled with TOCFL levels from Novice to Band B. CHINESE TONES AND PRONUNCIATION • The first unit trains your ear: the four tones on one syllable, word pairs that differ only by tone (買 mǎi "buy" and 賣 mài "sell"), and the pinyin letters English speakers misread, like x, q, zh and c. • Every word, sentence, story line and Speak question has Taiwan-accent audio, not a generic mainland accent. • Handwriting practice with real stroke-order guides. SPEAK CHINESE: ANSWER REAL QUESTIONS OUT LOUD • Someone in a real Taiwan scene asks you one question: the auntie at the breakfast shop, a night-market stall owner, a taxi driver, the convenience-store clerk, a new coworker, a language-exchange partner. • Tap the mic, answer, and tap again when you're done, or type your answer. It doesn't have to be perfect: if a person would understand you, it counts. If not, you get one gentle fix and a more natural way to say it, and the character reacts the way a person would. • Stuck? Help shows what the question means, a pattern to answer with and examples. Or type what you want to say in English, see it in Chinese, and then say it yourself. • New questions unlock as you finish lessons. Lessons are labeled with TOCFL levels so you can see your progress toward Band A and Band B. There are no past papers or mock exams in the app; the focus is Chinese you can understand and speak. Does it teach Chinese tones? Yes, from the first unit, with Taiwan-accent audio on every word. Do I need to know Chinese already?
