Benchscape: Bench Map & Views

Some benches deserve more than a passing glance. The one facing the sea, the one at the end of the trail, the one where you can see the whole city. Benchscape is the map of public benches worth the detour, anywhere in the world: photos, ratings out of 10 and reviews from the community. A BENCH MAP THAT IS ALREADY FULL Over three million public benches are already on the map, from your street to the other side of the world. Open the app on a walk, a hike, a picnic or a stroll through town and you will see every bench around you. The ones documented by the community stand out in color, with their photo, their rating and their reviews. FIND THE RIGHT BENCH, NOT JUST ANY BENCH A bench to read on, to eat lunch outdoors, to watch a sunset, to catch your breath halfway up a trail. Filter by rating and by feel: sea view, shaded, quiet, step-free access, picnic table. You can find the right viewpoint before you even leave the house. WAKE UP A SLEEPING BENCH Almost all three million benches on the map have no photo and no rating yet. Be the first to document one and you wake it up: you choose its name, and your username stays on its page for good. One photo, one rating out of 10, that is all. Under thirty seconds on the spot. COLLECT THE BENCHES YOU HAVE SAT ON Check in on every bench you actually stopped at. Your position is verified by GPS, so your collection means something. Your profile gathers all your benches into a grid of photos: the ones you discovered, the ones you visited. 20 BADGES TO UNLOCK From your very first wake-up to collections spread across several cities, twenty badges track your progress, with a bar showing what is left to do. THE 11/10 Ratings go from 0 to 10, but a bench averaging above 9.5 goes off the scale and earns its own mark. These are the finest viewpoints on the map, and they are rare. Go and find one. SHARE WHAT YOU FIND Every discovery generates a vertical image ready to post, with your photo and your rating on it. YOU CAN ALSO JUST LOOK Nothing forces you to contribute. Browse the most beautiful benches in the world from your sofa, plan a walk, spot a place to rest on your next trip. The app works perfectly well as a spectator: no account needed to explore the map. Free, no ads, and your location data is never sold. Benchscape, the community map of public benches: find a bench, rate it, collect it. Bench data: © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under ODbL.
