Full description
Write out what is on your mind, choose one wisdom tradition, and receive up to three passages that meet you where you actually are, in your own language, correctly attributed. Christian Scripture: the Berean Standard Bible. Hebrew wisdom: the JPS TaNaKH of 1917, the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings. Apocrypha and deuterocanon: the King James Version with Apocrypha, including Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch and the books of Maccabees. Buddhism: the Dhammapada, the Sutta Nipata, the Udana and the Itivuttaka, in Bhikkhu Sujato's translations published by SuttaCentral. Taoism: the Tao Te Ching of Lao Tzu, in James Legge's translation of 1891. Hindu and Vedic: the Bhagavad Gita, in Annie Besant's translation. Stoic philosophy: the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius and Seneca's Letters to Lucilius. WHAT YOU WRITE STAYS YOURS Nothing you write is stored unless you choose to keep it on your own device, and no person reads a word of it. There are no ads. Nothing about you is sold. The app works without an account. THE WORDS ARE REAL, AND YOU CAN CHECK THEM This is the part worth understanding. A language model chooses an ADDRESS: a book, a chapter, a verse. Our own code then fetches the WORDS from a real published edition. The model never writes the passage. If a reference cannot be resolved in a real edition, it is dropped rather than filled in. Every passage arrives with its edition, its translator and its licence, so you can look it up yourself. A reference that will not resolve in a real edition is dropped rather than replaced, so you may receive two where another canon gives three. THREE WAYS TO BEGIN A prayer: addressed to God, or to a higher power, in whatever terms you use for it. A message to someone you've lost: for the things left unsaid. A letter to your higher self: a quiet space for reckoning and admission. None is preselected. You are not asked to declare a metaphysics before you are allowed to write. SEVEN CANONS, PRESENTED AS EQUALS Christian Scripture · Hebrew Wisdom · Apocrypha · Buddhism · Taoism · Hindu & Vedic · Stoic Philosophy No tradition is promoted over another, and there is no interpretation layer. The passage is served and then we step back. No sermon, no "what this means for you today". A QUIET PLACE The interface changes with the hour where you are: morning, evening, and the middle of the night. Your journal, if you keep one, lives on your device and not on our servers, and stays readable without a connection. Finding a new passage does need one: the words are fetched from a published edition at the moment you ask. If what you write suggests you are in danger, the app stops and offers real help lines instead of a passage. That check runs before anything is sent anywhere. AllWord is free to read, up to ten messages a week. A contribution removes that limit while it is active. Nothing else changes: the same passages, the same journal, whatever the amount.
