Full description
Plan outdoor tasks with more context than temperature alone. HeatNudge combines live hourly forecasts with the details of your activity. Choose a place, describe the task, and compare daylight windows using apparent heat, humidity, solar load, wind, workload, clothing, and acclimatization. NOT A GOVERNMENT APP HeatNudge is an independent app from an independent developer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to the National Weather Service, NOAA, NIOSH, the CDC, OSHA, the U.S. Department of Labor, or any other government agency or entity. HeatNudge does not represent a government entity, is not an official government source, and does not provide or facilitate any government service. WHERE THE INFORMATION COMES FROM The heat safety information and the heat index calculation in this app are based on publicly published guidance. You can read every original source in full: National Weather Service heat index: https://www.weather.gov/safety/heat-index NWS heat index equation (NOAA): https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/html/heatindex_equation.shtml NIOSH heat stress guidance (CDC): https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/heat-stress/ OSHA heat exposure guidance (U.S. Department of Labor): https://www.osha.gov/heat-exposure Weather forecast data (Open-Meteo): https://open-meteo.com/ The same source links open from the More screen inside the app. The original source is always the authoritative and most current version of that information. LIVE THERMAL HORIZON Search worldwide places and review current conditions plus a clear hourly apparent-temperature outlook. HeatNudge uses Open-Meteo forecast data and labels when it was refreshed. Your latest forecast remains available locally when the connection is weak. TASK-AWARE PLANNING Set task duration, workload, sun exposure, clothing load, and whether you are used to the heat. HeatNudge ranks up to three outdoor windows and explains the factors behind each screening score. PRACTICAL OUTDOOR BRIEFS Save a selected window, keep planned and completed sessions organized, and share a plain-language brief through Android. Each brief includes the time, task load, screening score, and a suggested work/cool-down check cycle. CLEAR SAFETY CONTEXT Review heat-warning signs and open the published NIOSH and OSHA guidance pages from inside the app. Risk is always shown with text as well as color. PRIVACY BY DESIGN No account is required. HeatNudge does not request device location. You search for a place manually, and local controls let you remove the selected place, cached forecast, planner settings, and saved sessions. HeatNudge is a weather-based screening and planning aid. It does not measure worksite WBGT, replace an employer heat program, provide a compliance decision, or guarantee safety. Recheck actual conditions, watch for symptoms, and follow local workplace and emergency guidance. This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice. Support: [email protected]
