BarKeep - Mac Companion

BarKeep Mobile is the companion app for BarKeep, the menu-bar and notch utility for macOS. IT NEEDS A MAC. BarKeep has to be running on a Mac, with the same BarKeep account signed in there and on the phone. Without that Mac there is nothing for this app to connect to: the dashboard stays empty and the settings you change have nowhere to land. YOUR MAC, WHILE YOU ARE AWAY FROM IT - Whether it is online, and which Mac it is. - Live CPU, memory and battery readings, streamed only while the screen is open. - What it is playing, with artwork, a scrubber, and play, pause and skip. - The reminders sitting on it. - Its clipboard history: tap an entry to copy it to your phone, press and hold to put it back on the Mac's clipboard. EVERY SETTING, FROM THE SOFA BarKeep has over 300 settings: the menu bar, the general options, and the twenty-one pages of the notch island. All of them are here, grouped the way they are on the Mac. Change one and the Mac reconfigures itself while it is running, so you do not have to walk over to it. NOTES ON BOTH SCREENS Write a note on the phone and it turns up in the notch on your Mac, and the other way round. Lists come across too. FRIENDS Add someone with their BarKeep account code, see who is around, and keep up with your conversations. Anyone can be blocked or reported from the conversation itself. AI SESSIONS, RUNNING ON YOUR MAC This is a remote control, not an assistant on your phone. The work happens in the Claude Code or Cursor command-line tool on your Mac, inside a folder that Mac has approved, and the phone starts it, watches it and answers it. - Start a session in an approved folder, or reopen a past Claude one and carry on the same conversation rather than a copy of it. - Watch the answer arrive as it is written, with the thinking behind it and a card for every file read, every edit and every command run. - Keep typing while it works. Your messages wait in a queue you can see, you can drop one from it, and Stop really does stop the turn. - When it asks permission to do something, the Allow or Deny card arrives on the phone. - Choose the model and how hard it should think, and how much it may do unasked: plan first, ask every time, accept edits, or run everything. - Approve a new folder from the phone, or on the Mac in BarKeep, Settings, AI Sessions. - Answer a question or an Allow or Deny prompt from a Claude session already running on your Mac, in VS Code or a terminal. This one needs more than the Mac: the Claude Code or Cursor command-line tool has to be installed on it already and signed in to your own account with it. BarKeep drives the tool you have; it does not include one. Past sessions are listed for Claude only, because Cursor does not keep them on the Mac. GAMES More than seventy of the games built into BarKeep, laid out for touch: arcade, puzzle, memory, attention, language, maths and a few quiet ones. Games written for a keyboard get on-screen controls. Search them, pin the ones you come back to, set the difficulty per game, and your high scores are the same ones your Mac has. These work whether or not your Mac is around. Join a duel or a race with the six-character code of a room your Mac or a friend is hosting. WHAT YOU NEED - A Mac running BarKeep, on macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later. - A BarKeep account, free to create, signed in on the phone and on the Mac. - An internet connection. The phone and the Mac talk through BarKeep's servers over an encrypted connection. - For the AI tab only: the Claude Code or Cursor command-line tool on that Mac, signed in to your own account with it. FREE, AND PREMIUM Everything above is free in BarKeep. Two things need BarKeep Premium on your account: hosting an online game room, and sending chat messages. Joining a room someone else is hosting, and reading messages, are always free. You can sign out, or delete your account, from Settings. The Privacy Policy says what is kept.
