Mobile Data Saver limits download speed locally on your Android phone or tablet. This can help reduce mobile data use while streaming: a service that supports automatic quality adjustment may select a lower quality when less bandwidth is available. Actual savings depend on the service, settings and usage. Choose your download profile • Saver: 2 Mbit/s • Balanced: 4 Mbit/s • Comfort: 6 Mbit/s • VPN off & Quit: disable limiting and close the app At continuously fully used profile bandwidth, 2, 4 and 6 Mbit/s mathematically correspond to about 0.9, 1.8 and 2.7 GB per hour. These figures do not guarantee the usage billed by your mobile carrier; protocol overhead and other traffic can differ. Live display and local statistics See current download speed, transferred download and upload data, and session duration. Local usage statistics and built-in diagnostics help you understand usage and connection problems. Report problem lets you review and copy a report, or optionally share it with support using an external email or sharing app. Local VPN functionality Mobile Data Saver uses Android VpnService to process other apps' network traffic through a local TUN/SOCKS relay on your device and limit downloads. There is no external NOEMA VPN server or location change. Connections go over your mobile or Wi-Fi network to their original destinations. The app adds no separate encryption layer; HTTPS/TLS remains provided by the originating app. DNS uses your network's servers, with Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 as a fallback if no DNS servers are available. Before starting, you see a disclosure about local processing and Android's VPN consent dialog. No root, Device Owner mode, custom ROM or unlocked bootloader is required. Another VPN cannot be active as the device VPN at the same time. Stay in control Stop the local VPN with VPN off & Quit, the notification or the Quick Settings tile. The app limits downloads; effects of the local network path on uploads, latency, streaming and other apps depend on your device and connection. Unchanged upload speed is not guaranteed.
