Nejo: AI Stuttering Companion

Hi, I’m Daniel. I stutter, and I built Nejo. I wanted somewhere I could practise the conversations I actually face in real life before I had to have them. A meeting at work. A phone call I’d been putting off. Introducing myself. Going on a date. Explaining an idea. Speaking in a group. Sometimes you know exactly what you want to say. You just want a chance to say it first. That’s what Nejo is for. Nejo is an AI stuttering companion that gets to know you and creates personalised speaking practice around your life — through realistic voice conversations you can practise privately, at your own pace. DAILY PRACTICE, BUILT AROUND YOU Nejo doesn’t give everyone the same generic exercises. It uses what it learns about your life, the situations you find difficult and the conversations coming up for you to create personalised daily speaking practices. One day that might be speaking up in a meeting. Another day it could be making a phone call, answering an unexpected question, introducing yourself or revisiting a situation you found difficult. As your life changes, your practice can change with it. TALK TO NEJO — PRACTISE ANY CONVERSATION Real life doesn’t always follow a schedule. With Talk to Nejo, simply describe the conversation you want to practise and Nejo creates the scenario for you in seconds. Practise a job interview. Call your landlord. Prepare for a first date. Present an idea on a Zoom call. Order food in a busy restaurant. Have a difficult conversation. If you want to prepare for it, you can practise it with Nejo. REAL VOICE CONVERSATIONS Nejo is built around speaking, not tapping through lessons. You speak naturally and Nejo responds in real time. There is no script to memorise and no single correct answer. Pause. Take your time. Start again. Try a different response. Repeat the situation as many times as you need. Practice is private, patient and designed to feel closer to the conversations you face outside the app. NEJO GETS MORE PERSONAL OVER TIME After each practice, Nejo uses what it learns to make future practice more relevant to you. Nejo isn’t about forcing perfect fluency or making everyone speak the same way. It’s about having somewhere private to practise the conversations that matter to you, become more familiar with difficult situations and feel more prepared before they happen. It is not a medical device and is not a replacement for assessment, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified speech and language professional.
