Compass World News

Read the news without ads, tracking, or algorithms picking what you see. Compass World News brings trusted news from New Zealand and the world into one clean, private app — then shows you the perspectives you would otherwise miss. Free to download. No account. No ads. No in-app tracking. An optional one-time Pro unlock adds power-user features — never a subscription. ───────── SEE THE FULL PICTURE The sources we trust quietly shape how we see the world — and it is hard to notice what you are never shown. Every story has more than one side, so Compass World marks the general political leaning of each source with a simple compass dial: 🧭 West – Left 🧭 North – Centre 🧭 East – Right Read across the spectrum in one place — filter by Left, Centre, or Right with a tap, or hide what you are not looking for. ───────── BUILD YOUR NEWS, YOUR WAY Your feed, your rules: ✅ Add your own RSS and Atom feeds (up to 5 free, 50 with Pro) ✅ Create custom sections for any topic ✅ Move feeds or change their leaning any time ✅ Reorder sections and show or hide built-in ones ✅ Enable only the regions and publishers you want Local news, science, finance, or your favourite blogs — Compass World adapts to you. ───────── READ WITHOUT THE CLUTTER The built-in reader opens articles stripped of ads, pop-ups, cookie banners, scripts, and known tracking pixels — just text and images. ───────── STARTS READY TO GO Pre-loaded with sources across the political spectrum, free from day one: 🌏 New Zealand – RNZ, NZ Herald, Stuff, The Spinoff, Newsroom, Otago Daily Times 🌏 World – BBC, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, France 24, CBC 🌏 Americas – NPR, The Hill, Fox News, CBS, ABC News, Washington Examiner 🌏 UK & EU – BBC UK, Sky News, The Independent, Euronews 🌏 Asia-Pacific – ABC Australia, CNA, Japan Times, SCMP, Bangkok Post, NDTV Keep them, delete them, or add your own. No cloud, no network; works in aeroplane mode ✅ Two more games: Compass Flap and 2048 ───────── BUILT FOR PRIVACY Privacy is not a feature here. It is the foundation. ✅ No advertising or analytics in the app ✅ No in-app tracking or fingerprinting ✅ No accounts, no cloud services ✅ Compass World collects nothing about what you read Compass World runs no servers of its own — your device connects straight to publishers' public feeds, so nothing logs your reading. Your feeds, saved stories, and settings never leave your device. Unlocking Pro? Google Play handles the purchase — its billing contacts Google's servers, as for any paid Android app. We never see payment details, and it stays separate from your reading, which never leaves your phone. ───────── Also inside: fast and battery-friendly, offline reading with headline caching, and adjustable text size. Compass World is independent and built in New Zealand. Notes: Google Play provides standard anonymised install and crash stats — about the app, not your reading. Not affiliated with any news organisation or party. Leaning indicators are a general guide, not a definitive classification. Download free. Read the whole picture — privately.
