Android requires precise location permission and enabled location services for Wi-Fi scan results; the app does not request GPS coordinates. Android controls scan timing. Standard mode requests a scan about every 31 seconds. On Android 11 or newer, an optional guide explains how to disable Wi-Fi scan throttling in Developer options for requests about every 3 seconds. Actual readings may take longer; faster scanning uses more battery. Old readings are clearly marked. Signal strength is a guide, not a distance measurement.
