Fraud Monitor blocks scam calls, warns you about scam texts, and stops known scam websites from loading — all on your phone, and all optional. You choose which protections to turn on. BLOCK SCAM CALLS Fraud Monitor checks every incoming call against a list of more than 160,000 numbers reported for spam and fraud, held on your phone. Known scam numbers are rejected before your phone rings. The check runs offline and takes a few milliseconds. Anyone in your contacts always rings through, no matter what any list says. To do this, Fraud Monitor asks to be your default caller ID and spam app. WARN ABOUT SCAM TEXTS Fraud Monitor checks incoming text messages against the same list of numbers reported for spam and fraud, and looks at the wording of the message using a model that runs on your phone. If a message looks like a scam, you get a notification telling you why. Fraud Monitor is NOT your messaging app and never asks to be. It cannot send, delete, hide or change any message. Your texts stay in your normal inbox exactly as they arrived. Fraud Monitor only warns you. The wording of your messages is judged on your phone and is never sent to us. BLOCK SCAM WEBSITES Fraud Monitor blocks known scam and phishing sites in every browser and every app on your phone, not just one. To do this it uses a local VPN connection on the device. This is a filter, not a tunnel: there is no VPN server, we operate no remote endpoint, and none of your traffic is routed to us or through us. Only DNS lookups are inspected. Each lookup is checked against a list of more than 540,000 scam domains stored on your phone, so the check happens locally and the site you are visiting is never sent to us. Lookups that are not on the list are passed straight to a public DNS resolver and answered normally. All other traffic on your phone is untouched. Website protection is off until you switch it on, and you can switch it off again at any time from the same screen. CHECK ANYTHING YOURSELF Paste a phone number, the text of a message, or a website address, and Fraud Monitor tells you what it knows about it and why. Nothing you paste is stored on our servers unless you choose to report it.
