Waypacker is a travel community, not a booking site. It is built on one idea: the best parts of a trip come from knowing someone there. A local who tells you which neighbourhood to sleep in. A spare room offered because you got on, not because you paid. A dinner table with six people who arrived in the same city the same week. STAYS WITH VERIFIED LOCALS Ask a verified member for their spare room. No nightly rate and no booking fee. Hosts describe the room, the area and how they live, so you both know what you are saying yes to. MEETUPS Dinner, a hike, a Sunday market. Travellers and locals in the same city on the same evening. Go to one, or start one tonight. WORK EXCHANGE A few hours of help a day for a longer stay. Paint the hostel, mind the dogs, help with the harvest, and stay weeks instead of nights. NO SPARE ROOM? YOU CAN STILL TAKE PART Hosting an afternoon counts. Show someone the walk you take on Sundays, answer a question about your city, add the bus route that actually works. Most of the community has never offered a bed. GROUPS Communities by place and by obsession: a country, a visa queue, night trains. Ask the people who already live there, before you go. CITY GUIDES Where to eat, which neighbourhood to sleep in, the transport that actually works. Written by members who live there rather than a guidebook. TRIPS AND CROSSOVERS Add where you are going and when. Waypacker tells you when someone you know will be in the same place at the same time, so you find out before you have both left.
