NoiseReport is a simple civic utility for documenting excessive environmental noise and preparing clear incident reports. Use your phone to measure surrounding noise, save the details of an incident, add location information, notes and an optional photograph, and generate a structured PDF report that can be shared or attached to a complaint. Measurements produced by a smartphone microphone are indicative and may vary depending on the device, microphone hardware, Android audio processing, device placement and environmental conditions. NoiseReport is not a certified sound-level meter, and authorities may use calibrated equipment when assessing a complaint. Your incident information is stored locally on your device. NoiseReport does not automatically upload incidents, photographs or measurements to a central server. Reports and complaint emails leave your device only when you choose to share them. NoiseReport currently focuses on helping users document noise incidents and prepare information that can be shared with the appropriate authorities.
