Elephant Journey

Elephant Journey is a powerful mobile application developed to protect both wild elephants and rural communities across Sri Lanka. In a time where human-elephant conflict continues to escalate—leading to tragic deaths on both sides—this app offers a meaningful, technology-driven solution to a deeply rooted issue. The app allows users to report real-time elephant sightings, helping nearby communities stay informed and avoid dangerous encounters. By using the data shared by everyday users—villagers, travelers, and wildlife enthusiasts—Elephant Journey builds a collective awareness network that enhances safety and supports conservation efforts. Through location-based alerts, users can receive timely notifications about elephant presence in their area, giving them the chance to take preventive action and avoid harm. Elephant Journey also serves as a citizen reporting tool, enabling anyone to document wildlife deaths, illegal activities like poaching or deforestation, and other threats to biodiversity. These reports are stored and visualized through heat maps and data analytics, creating a valuable resource for conservationists, researchers, and wildlife authorities working on the ground. What makes Elephant Journey stand out is its focus on people-powered conservation. The app is not just a digital platform—it’s a growing movement led by those who live closest to the conflict and care the most. By sharing information, communities are no longer isolated in their efforts to stay safe. They become part of a nationwide network working toward coexistence and protection. Whether you are a villager living in elephant territory, a field officer tracking tusker movements, or a passionate citizen who wants to make a difference, Elephant Journey empowers you to be part of the solution. Every sighting reported, every alert received, and every action taken contributes to saving lives—both human and elephant. Elephant Journey is more than an app. It’s a bridge between technology and empathy, between safety and conservation. Together, we can reduce conflict, raise awareness, and help protect Sri Lanka’s iconic elephants for generations to come. Download Elephant Journey today, and become part of the change.
