NEW CARS NEED A NEW STANDARD: OBDonUDS (SAE J1979-2) Some 2025 and 2026 cars already answer only through SAE J1979-2 OBDonUDS, and for 2027 models the transition is mandatory. Many OBD2 scanners and code readers cannot test them yet. OBDAI detects an OBDonUDS vehicle automatically and gives you the same workflow you use today: fault codes (DTCs) with enhanced DTC records, emissions readiness by monitor group, freeze-frame snapshots, vehicle information, and live data.
