Check a used car before you buy it, and keep your own car healthy after. A private app: not a government body, not acting for the Israeli Ministry of Transport and not affiliated with it. Licence-plate information comes from the Ministry of Transport's open dataset: https://data.gov.il/he/datasets/ministry_of_transport/private-and-commercial-vehicles (every source is listed at the end). CHECK A CAR BEFORE YOU BUY Plug an OBD-II adapter into the seller's car and run the check. You see active and cleared faults, self-tests that were recently reset (the sign someone wiped codes before the viewing), and the VIN in the car's computer against the one the Ministry of Transport has on record. FAULTS EXPLAINED When the warning light comes on, the app reads the code and explains what it means, how urgent it is and whether you can keep driving, from a library of 583 codes. SEE IT COMING After every drive the app stores battery voltage, fuel trims, temperatures and self-tests, and compares them with your own car. When something starts to drift, you get a notification, weeks before the light. YOUR GARAGE SEES IT TOO Link your garage once. Every new fault reaches your mechanic with the engine data from the moment it happened, and you can request an appointment from the app. SERVICING, TEST, FUEL Reminders by real mileage, test and insurance dates, recalls checked daily, and what fuel cost this month in shekels. WHAT YOU NEED A Bluetooth OBD-II adapter. On iPhone, Bluetooth LE adapters only; that is an Apple restriction. Most petrol cars from 2001 and diesels from 2004 have an OBD-II socket. WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT No location. Distance is calculated from the speed the engine reports, and the app never asks for GPS.
