Place a stone, build a wall, claim the court. Stonecourt Go Board brings the ancient game of Go to your phone on a beginner-friendly 9x9 board — a sunlit kaya-wood panel, ink grid lines, and glossy black and white stones that click satisfyingly into place. HOW TO PLAY Black and White alternately place one stone on an empty intersection, Black moving first. Surround a stone or a connected group so it has no empty points touching it — its liberties — and it's captured off the board at once. You can't play a move that would leave your own group with zero liberties unless that same move captures an enemy group first, and a simple ko guard stops either side from immediately replaying a move that would recreate the position from just before their last move. When both players pass in a row, the round ends and is scored: your stones on the board plus the empty territory you fully surround, with White receiving a flat komi bonus to balance Black's first-move advantage. Higher total wins. FIVE WAYS TO PLAY • Play vs AI — face a beginner-level computer opponent that hunts for captures, always avoids walking its own stones into atari, and otherwise builds toward open liberties and central influence. • Duo — pass-and-play on one device. Hand the phone to a friend or family member and alternate stones on the same board. • Stats — track your wins, losses and ties against the AI, your best win streak, your Duo rounds, and how many stones you've captured. • Learn — clear, step-by-step rules plus a "how many liberties?" practice mode: study a partly-filled board and pick the right count for the ringed group, from a lone stone in the corner to a group caught in atari. • Awards — nine milestones to unlock, from your first round to a ten-stone capture streak and clearing every puzzle in the Book of Liberties. Once a round ends, a translucent overlay shades exactly which points belong to each side, so the final score is never a mystery.
