Deixis turns speech into text — in any app on your phone, and without sending your voice anywhere. Speech recognition runs on the phone itself. The recording of your voice is never uploaded: not to us, not to anyone. There is no setting that changes that, because there is no feature that depends on changing it. DICTATE INTO ANY APP Turn on the Deixis dictation bubble and a microphone appears beside any text field you tap into — a message, an email, a search box. Tap it, say the sentence, tap again, and your words are typed into the field you were already in. RECORD AND TRANSCRIBE MEETINGS Record a meeting and watch the transcript build as it runs, all on the phone. You get a folder with the audio, a timestamped transcript and — if you want them — AI-written notes. It survives the screen going off, a phone call, and the app being killed mid-recording. A DICTIONARY THAT MAKES IT ACCURATE Add the names, products and jargon you actually use and the recogniser expects them. Add fixes for the words it keeps getting wrong. Switch on a built-in vocabulary for software, accounting, business, medicine or law — or add a vocabulary file of your own, the same file the desktop app reads. THE WORDS IT WAS NOT SURE OF Deixis underlines the few words it was unsure it heard right. Tap one, choose the right spelling or type your own, and every other place it heard that word is fixed too. Answer once and it knows the word next time. CLEANUP THAT KNOWS WHERE IT IS GOING Punctuation, capitalisation and filler-word removal happen on the phone. When a sentence needs more than rules can give it, Deixis can send the text (never the audio) to its cleanup service, and it tells you when it does. You choose: when it helps, always, or never. SEND IT WHERE YOU WORK Point Deixis at your own endpoint and every finished dictation arrives there by itself. Add buttons for the things you do to text over and over. Nothing goes anywhere until you set one up, and the address is yours. SHARE A PAGE, NOT A FILE Turn a dictation, note or meeting transcript into a link for somebody who does not have Deixis. You choose how long it lives, from a day to a year, and who can open it. A meeting's audio is never part of it. Revoke a link and the words are gone, not hidden. FOR A TEAM Join a team you have been invited to and your seat is covered by theirs. See who else is in it, share a link only its members can open, and leave when you want to — unless you own it, which somebody else must take on first. The only things that ever leave your phone are listed in the app under Settings › Advanced › Help, and in full at https://deixis-voice.com/privacy. Your audio is not on that list, and never will be. The dictation bubble uses Android's accessibility service, because that is the only way an app may type into another app. It reads which app is in front and what kind of field has focus. It does not read what you type, it never reads password fields, and nothing it reads reaches our servers or any advertiser. It is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. FREE AND PAID Dictation, on-device recognition, the dictionary, meeting recording and transcription are yours and stay yours. The cleanup service, translation and AI meeting notes need a free seven-day trial or a subscription. You can also use your own AI provider key instead.
