Full description
🚀 A friendly guide to our Solar System, made for young explorers. Solar Explorer takes children on a tour of the Sun, the eight planets, their moons, the small icy worlds between them and the real missions people have sent out to look. Everything works offline, with no advertisements, no account and nothing collected. 🪐 EXPLORE EVERY WORLD • The Sun and all eight planets, each with its own page of pictures, facts and figures • 16 moons, from our own Moon to Titan, Europa and Enceladus • 5 smaller worlds — Pluto, Ceres, comets, asteroids and meteoroids • 5 real space missions — the ones that took the photographs 🌌 A SOLAR SYSTEM THAT ACTUALLY TURNS The map is a working orrery. The planets really do go round: in the right order, in the right direction, and at the right relative speeds, so Mercury laps Neptune many times over just as it does out there. Pinch to zoom in up to four times, tap any body — the Sun included — to read about it without leaving the map, and speed the whole thing up or pause it. 📖 COLLECT YOUR SPACE PASSPORT Every new planet a child opens adds a stamp to their Space Passport. Fill all eight and the passport is complete. 🏅 QUIZZES AND BADGES 24 quiz questions drawn at random, six badges to earn for exploring, reading and scoring well, and a favourites collection for the worlds worth coming back to. 💡 A NEW FACT EVERY DAY 20 fun facts, one waiting on the home screen each time the app opens. 🗣️ THREE LANGUAGES, IN FULL English, Hindi and Gujarati — not just the buttons, but every planet description, every quiz question, every fact and every badge. Planet names use the forms taught in Indian school science, and large distances are grouped in lakh and crore. The app follows the phone's own language on first launch, and it can be changed at any time in Settings. 🔒 SAFE BY DESIGN • No in-app purchases • No account, no sign-up, no email address • No internet permission at all — the app cannot send anything anywhere • Progress is saved on the device, and a grown-up can clear it in Settings • No links out to other apps, websites or social media ♿ COMFORTABLE TO USE Every screen is labelled for screen readers. The animated galaxy background can be dimmed or switched off, and the app honours the phone's own reduce-motion setting, so movement can be turned off entirely. 🎓 WHO IT IS FOR Written for children of about 6 to 12, and for the grown-ups reading along with them. Explanations lead with the simple version — "Venus has a very thick atmosphere that traps heat" rather than the textbook phrasing. Where the science keeps moving, as the moon counts of the giant planets do, the wording says "more than", so it stays true. A note on the pictures: the Solar System map is drawn to be clear rather than to scale. At true scale Neptune would sit far off the side of the screen and most planets would be too small to see. The order of the planets and their relative sizes are what the map teaches, and the app says so on its About screen.

What's new

The first release of Solar Explorer. Explore the Sun, the eight planets, 16 moons, 5 icy worlds and 5 real space missions. Watch the planets orbit on a map you can zoom and pause, collect a passport stamp for every world you visit, earn six badges, and try 24 quiz questions. In English, Hindi and Gujarati. Works entirely offline, with no advertisements and no account.
