Full description
You'll happily read about octopus hearts for twenty minutes, but never a vocabulary list. ByteSized is built on that. It's a swipeable feed of genuinely interesting facts, written in the language you already speak — with a handful of words swapped into the language you're learning. Tap any of them to hear it spoken, see what it means, and keep it. READ ANY LANGUAGE Learn Spanish, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Turkish, Italian, Portuguese, Mongolian, Kazakh — or anything else you can type. You are not picking from a fixed menu. For languages that don't use the Latin alphabet, every word arrives with a romanised reading (pinyin, romaji and more), so you always know how to say it out loud. SIX WAYS TO LEARN, ONE APP - Fact Feed: an endless stream of surprising facts about topics you actually care about — space, history, psychology, science, tech, nature. - Real News: genuine headlines from today, rewritten at your reading level with new words built into the story. The source and date stay on the card. - Live Research: ask about anything happening right now and get a web-searched answer with real sources, in your own language. - Shredder: paste any long article and get it back bite-sized, with the key vocabulary already highlighted. - Word Bank and Practice: every word you tap is saved and scheduled with real spaced repetition, then quizzed right before you would have forgotten it. - Translator: a fast, no-nonsense translator with automatic language detection. WHY THE WORDS ACTUALLY STICK Most language learning apps ask you to memorise vocabulary lists. ByteSized never does. You read something you wanted to know anyway, and the new word arrives inside a sentence that already makes sense to you. Then six different parts of the app keep bumping you into that same word from different angles — reading, news, practice, review. That repetition in context is why it stays. BUILT FOR REAL LIFE - Set a daily goal you will actually hit. Five facts counts. - Pick your topics, change them whenever you like, and the feed updates immediately. - Six accent colours and a choice of reading font. - Keep a streak, level up as you learn words, and watch your vocabulary count grow. - Your progress syncs between your phone and the web. PRIVACY No analytics SDK and no behavioural tracking. Your account and everything in it can be permanently deleted from inside the app in one step. Free to use, supported by ads.
