Full description

One small app that opens practically any file, right on your phone. OpenAny opens PDF, Word (.docx and older .doc), Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .csv, .ods), PowerPoint (.pptx and older .ppt), OpenDocument (.odt, .odp), RTF, emails (.eml, .msg), contacts (.vcf), calendars (.ics), GPS tracks (.gpx, .kml), multi-page TIFF scans, photos (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, SVG and more), video (MP4, MKV, WebM, MOV and more), audio (MP3, M4A, FLAC, WAV, OGG, Opus), EPUB books, ZIP and TAR archives, fonts, Markdown, plain text and source code. Your files stay on your phone: * Every file is opened on the device. Nothing you open is ever uploaded. * No file names, file paths or search terms are ever sent anywhere. * No storage permission needed for the file picker, shared files or folders you grant * Optional all-files access, asked for only if you open the "All files" browser * No ads, no advertising ID, no accounts, no sign-in OpenAny collects anonymous usage statistics (Google Firebase Analytics) to learn which file types people open and which fail, so the right things get fixed. It covers file types and app settings, never the files themselves, their names or your searches, and you can switch it off in Settings. Details are in the privacy policy. Features: * Unlock password-protected PDFs, search inside them and jump through their contents * Print or save any document as PDF, and save a copy of any file * Search by name across every folder you have granted * Recent and starred files with thumbnail previews * Browse folders you grant once, or the whole device with all-files access * Sort by name, date, size or type; list or grid view * Deep zoom into huge photos * Archives browsed as folders, nothing unpacked * Background audio, picture-in-picture video and playback speed * Find text inside Word, Excel, slides, Markdown and code * In English, Arabic, Spanish, Persian, French and Russian * Material 3 design, dark mode, works on Android 8.0 and newer Honest limits: OpenAny is a viewer, not an editor. Complex slides render approximately, spreadsheet charts are not drawn, and .rar and .7z archives are not supported. Open source libraries are credited in the app under Settings > About OpenAny > Legal.

What's new

New: open old Word (.doc) and PowerPoint (.ppt) files, plus emails, RTF, TIFF scans, contacts, calendars, GPS tracks and OpenDocument files. Unlock password-protected PDFs, print any document, and save a copy of any file. Now in Arabic, Spanish, Persian, French and Russian, with a new Settings screen. Faster, more stable, and updates arrive in-app. Anonymous usage stats are on (switch off in Settings); file names and contents are never sent.
