Full description
Personal Map Log & Gallery is a notebook of places, drawn on a map, and a gallery of your photos of every trip. Log where you have been, where you have lived, and where you want to go, for yourself and for the people you travel with. Open any place and its photos are there, found in your library by date and location and shown on a map of where you took them. Start from your photos, and the app finds the places you lived and the trips you took. Your map fills in country by country, region by region. It is private by design. There is no account, no server, no ads and no tracking. Your log stays on your phone, and the map and place search work offline. YOUR PHOTOS OF EVERY PLACE Open an entry and see the photos you took there. The app finds them in your library by the dates of the visit and where each photo was taken: a weekend in Kyoto, a trip you only remember as "2019", the years you lived somewhere. No albums to make and nothing to sort. Each place has its own gallery: a map with a dot where each photo was taken, a grid you pinch to make bigger or smaller, full-screen photos to swipe and zoom, and a slideshow. Hide the photos you don't want to see. Nothing is copied or uploaded: the photos stay in your library. FIND YOUR TRIPS IN YOUR PHOTOS Open "Add places from photos", and the app reads when and where each photo in your library was taken. It suggests the places you lived, such as two years in Amsterdam, and your trips, including trips across several cities, such as a week in Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto. Day trips near home count as part of living there, unless you choose to count them as trips. Go through the suggestions: add a whole trip or some of its places, join two trips into one or split one in two, rename a trip, or turn one down. Say who was there once for everything you add. Each trip is saved under its name and shows as one row in your list. LOG A PLACE IN SECONDS Search for a city, region or country, or tap the map. Zoom in to save an exact spot and give it a name ("Grandma's house"); zoom out to log a whole region or country. Add dates if you like, even just the year or the month, and say who was there. Your list groups places you visited one after another into trips. Name a trip, set who was there for all its places at once, or move a place into another trip when you edit it. FOR EVERYONE YOU LOG PLACES FOR Add yourself, your partner, your children, your friends. Each entry lists who was there, and the map shows everyone's places together or one person's alone. A child without a phone can have a map too. SEE YOUR WORLD FILL IN Countries and regions you have visited are shaded on the map, with a mark for each place. Count your countries, regions, cities and continents, and browse your places by country. PLANS AND WISHES Log a trip before you go: it shows as planned until the date arrives, then counts on its own. Keep a list of places you want to go. SHARE A MAP CARD Make a picture of your map and your numbers, for everyone or one person, for all time or one year, and share it. Only the picture leaves your phone. YOUR DATA, YOUR FILES Save a backup file, send one to Google Drive or email, or let the app keep dated backups in a folder you choose, such as one synced with Syncthing. Import a backup on a new phone. Export GeoJSON for other map apps. PRIVACY • No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads. • The map and place search work without a connection. • The street map is loaded from OpenFreeMap; you can turn it off and use only the built-in map. • Location is read only when you choose a place. • Photos are read on your phone only, never copied or uploaded. What's new

Add places from photos now groups your photos into the homes you lived in and your trips across cities. A review screen lets you add, join, split, rename or turn down each suggestion. Trips are saved and shown as named rows in the List. A trip's menu lets you rename it, set who was there or ungroup it. In the List, long-press to select places, then group, ungroup or set who was there. The editor has a Trip field. Trips are included in backups. Settings has a Theme: System, Light or Dark.
