Full description
FlowRecall is a spaced-repetition reading app for students. You read your own PDFs and EPUBs, highlight what matters, write recall questions from those highlights, and an FSRS-6 scheduler asks you again right before you would forget. WHY YOU FORGET WHAT YOU READ Reading is recognition. The words on the page supply the answer, so you never practise producing it, and most of a chapter is gone within days. That is the ordinary forgetting curve, not a personal failing. Re-reading feels like learning because the second pass is smoother than the first. Fluency is not knowledge. Close the book and try to say what the section argued - most people who have just re-read a chapter twice cannot. HOW FLOWRECALL WORKS 1. Read your own material. PDF, EPUB, or notes you paste in. Long-press any word for a definition without leaving the page. 2. Highlight a passage. It is saved to your device immediately and appears in your "Ready to add" queue. Nothing is scheduled until you say so. 3. Write the question yourself. This is the part that is the study, so the app does not do it for you. Two optional AI assists exist and both are deliberately narrow: Polish tidies grammar and may not change what is asked, and Answer answers strictly from the passage you highlighted, never from general knowledge. 4. Get asked again at the right moment. FSRS-6, the Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler, runs on your device and works offline. It estimates when each item is about to slip and brings it back then. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Most flashcard apps begin at the moment a card exists. For most students the card never exists, because making cards is a separate session that happens after the reading, when the material has already started to fade. FlowRecall closes that gap by putting the card-making inside the reading, while the passage is still on screen and you still know why it mattered. It is deliberately not a bulk generator. An earlier version produced cards automatically from an uploaded document, and that was removed on purpose: if the model writes the question, you have not retrieved anything. BUILT FOR Medical, law and engineering students. NEET, JEE, UPSC, CAT and GATE candidates. Anyone working through dense material they did not choose and cannot skim, where the syllabus is longer than the window you have to revise it in. FEATURES - Read PDFs, EPUBs and pasted text - In-place word definitions while you read - Three typefaces, including a high-legibility option - Warm night filter for reading in the dark - Highlights that carry notes - Write-your-own recall questions, with optional AI assists - FSRS-6 spaced repetition, on-device and offline - Type-from-memory and explain-it-back answer formats - Retention projection: what you will still recall on exam day - A searchable library of your own documents - Daily study sessions and streaks FREE TO USE Five documents, twenty AI definition lookups and five AI writing assists a month. No credit card. The reading, the highlighting, the question-writing and the scheduler are not metered. YOUR MATERIAL STAYS YOURS Highlights and recall items are saved on your own device. Sign in if you want them synced. Made by one person. [email protected]

What's new

Study on your own terms. • No more streaks or "cards due" counts – pick any deck, any time. • Each deck shows how well you know it: Fresh, Steady or Fading. • Start works on every deck, even ones you know well: you get a short round of your weakest cards. • Save a definition for a word inside a highlight and it stays on that word, marked with a new note badge. • You can now select text on top of an existing highlight. • Gentler, optional study reminders.
